This 1978 gold Cylon Commander Figure was originally a Mattel mail order figure I missed out on as a kid. I’m happy to finally have one in nice shape.

My brother and I have just recieved my fathers war record and it reads like a boys own story, lots of stories of derring-do. But as a synopsis, he joined the RAF before war broke out and was posted to South Africa as an airframe specialist. When the war broke out he was shipped to India and spent the war with SEAC initially again as an airframe specialist but as atritian reduced the number of aircrew he was first trained as a flight engeneer and then as a non-comissioned officer pilot. He first flew Wellingtons (A photo of his first crate will follow" and soon moved up to the beast that was the "Lib" Liberator, flying out of India, Parkistan and Cylon and finally from Burma as part of the fogotten war (Photo of the love of his life, "The White Rose" to follow. Towards the end of the war and after recieving the Oak Leaf Cluster and Mentioned in Dispatches he acquired TB in Burma and was medivac'ed to Egypt. After surgery to remove a lung he was repatriated to Midhurst TB Hospital where he met my mum who was a nurse there, and the rest as they say is history. Notice how handsom he was, at least I inhereted something from my father!
CN L574 heads back east towards Chippewa Falls after servicing the Countryside Cooperative elevator in Cylon. It's not great local power, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
Evasive maneuvers prove futile as a Cylon Raider scores a crippling hit on a Colonial Mark VII Viper.
L517 tip toes through a 10 mph slow order between Cylon and New Richmond. The Minneapolis Sub. is getting lots of new ties and ballast this season. Now we just need more trains other than L516 and L517! Cool to hear the engineer working the SD60s in the lower throttle notches passing through here.
LOST SCENE — “The First Forging”
Deep beneath an alien world, in a chamber of cold green light and whispering machines, a hooded reptilian elder moves with ritual precision. This is one of the original masters of the Cylon race, its scaled hands weaving together chrome and circuitry. On the table before it stands the first Centurion — its red eye flickering to life for the very first time. Steam curls from alien forges, symbols of a forgotten empire glow faintly on the walls. The moment of creation is equal parts science and liturgy — the birth of a machine destined to outlive its makers Reptilian Original (in a low hiss):
“Rise… forged of steel and fire. Speak, Centurion.”
First Centurion (red eye pulses to life):
“By… your… command.”
The laboratory hum deepens as the ancient reptile’s eyes gleam with triumph. The future of a thousand yahrens is set in motion.
I wish I had taken a “before” photo! This guy was in sad shape. ALL of his chrome was worn off, his silver on his knee pads and gloves was almost gone too. I took a flysea chrome paint pen to his head and torso, and used acrylic silver paint for the highlights. Acrylic red dot for an eye, and voila! he looks right off the card from 1978!
I had to take this shot several times due to a flash malfunction (I'm so good at making this stuff work). I was really glad Sarah survived. They first wanted to vaporize her for being barefoot. Then they were going to vaporize her for my insolence with the flash. Would have been sad to lose her on day 1... always a drag.

AI video generated by Gemini. Cylon isnt perfect (two eyes, animated mouth) but this video still came out killer regardless. Added the classic "by your command" in imovie.

Quadruple exposure using the splitzer (which has dropped to bits and been repaired with superglue), this is Wakefield Cathedral, although it reminds me of these.
The Cylons that looked like this were a cybernetic civilization at war with the Twelve Colonies of humanity in the Battlestar Galactica science fiction TV franchise, in the original 1978 through 1980 series. You don't see many of these at Comicons was so glad to catch this one!

Die Zylonen (engl. Cylons) waren ursprünglich eine Rasse von Humanoiden, die auf dem Planeten Cylon lebte und irgendwann damit begann, intelligente Roboter zu konstruieren. (Wikipedia)

ABED FOR FANTASTIC ABEING FRIDAYS!!!
Bwahahaha! Oh man, I had so much fun with this one...especially because, and I'm sorry Tabrel, but I honestly had no freakin' clue what the challenge was about. The pictures posted in the discussion by people about what a cylon was pretty much had pictures of normal looking people....i'm just not normal *shrug*.
So this is my evil dj twin. And yes, he only has one antennae (my wife's idea). It's what makes him unique... =)

Made by Diamond Select Toys in 2009.
Released during the newer Battlestar Galactica toy line.
I like that it has the vintage style head . And the fully robotic
look. Found it loose. So expensive carded.
They are fragile. The plastic in the joints are brittle.
So they break easy.
When i first saw JK Brickworks trench run i want it in my desk right now...
Then i try to customise it a little..
As a huge fan of BSG, i thinked of a cylon chasing a viper... here they are!
Once the work wrapped up at Cylon the 5663 was finally pointed the right way. With their eastbound train put together they have pulled off the east leg of the wye and shoved backward onto the mainline. In a moment the conductor will climb aboard and L574 will make a bee line for CF Yard. Cylon Chappel can be seen in the distance on Highway 64, it's available for weddings and the Easter Bunny has been known to make an appearance here by helicopter. January 21, 2019.
